Funding Assistance

Upgrade classes are free to Teamster members who have been working for, or are sponsored by a contributing employer under the Master Construction Agreement. You must be a Teamster in good standing and if you are not working, you must be on the construction out-of-work list. All CDL courses i.e. CDL Class A and CDL Class B require tuition to be paid unless you are sponsored by a contributory employer.

If you are not qualified for training under the Master Construction Agreement, you might qualify for tuition assistance from an outside agency.

As a courtesy, we have listed some of the agencies below that have provided funding to students in the past. This list is not intended to be inclusive of all financial assistance agencies available.   ETP is a business and labor supported state agency that assists employers in strengthening their competitive edge by providing funds to off-set the costs of job skills training necessary to maintain high-performance workplaces.

  Available workforce development activities provided in local communities can benefit job seekers, laid off workers, youth, incumbent workers, new entrants to the workforce, veterans, persons with disabilities, and employers.

  The California Department of Rehabilitation works in partnership with consumers and other stakeholders to provide services and advocacy resulting in employment, independent living and equality for individuals with disabilities.

  The Division of Workers' Compensation monitors the administration of workers' compensation claims, and provides administrative and judicial services to assist in resolving disputes that arise in connection with claims for workers' compensation benefits.
